I love a good hard boiled egg, especially for deviled eggs and egg salad, or cutting up on top of a veggie salad.

But when I eat boiled eggs alone, I prefer the perfectly MEDIUM boiled.

Not poached.

Not runny.

Not soft.

MEDIUM BOILED EGGS!

It is hard to make this happen on a stove top - I can never find consistency.

Well, I make it clear quite often how much I love my Instant Pot and my favorite pressure cooker accessories! One of my FAVORITE THINGS TO MAKE in it is MEDIUM and HARD boiled eggs! You can also make Perfect Soft Boiled Eggs!

Perfect Boiled Eggs.

Every.

Single.

Time.

AND……

they PEEL so EASILY I could literally CRY!

I have found my go-to method for MEDIUM BOILED eggs made in the Instant Pot Pressure Cooker.

Perfect Medium Boiled Eggs

Directions

Place eggs on trivet or steamer rack over 1 1/2 cups water in Instant Pot
Note: you can cook more eggs and cook time will not change

Close lid, and turn Vent knob to “Sealing”

Press “Manual” button and adjust cook time to 4 minutes.
If you aren’t an Instant Pot user, Manual is simply high pressure

The Instant Pot or other pressure cooker will take 5-10 minutes to come to pressure. Once it does, cook time countdown will begin.

When cook time is complete, Instant Pot will beep. Press “Keep Warm/Off” button to turn off, and quickly release pressure (QPR) by turning vent knob to “Venting” (I always place a hand towel over the vent knob before releasing pressure).

CAREFULLY remove eggs from Instant Pot - yesssss…they will be HOT (I use tongs).

Immediately place eggs in ice bath, and allow to cool for about 5 minutes.
If you don’t let them cool, they will not be as easy to peel!

Get ready for tears… because they will peel easier than ANY eggs you have EVER made!

Enjoy!

  1. So can you open the lid immediately after releasing pressure or do you let it cool and then take the eggs out? I just got my IP today and this will be the first thing I try.

    1. After you release all the pressure, you can open the lid. Then place eggs in ice bath - be careful grabbing the eggs out because the will be hot (of course) :) -Jessica
